As an experienced Internet user, you know how to stay safe online by avoiding dangerous links, restricting children’s online activity, protecting sensitive data and performing quick on-site authorization.

Still, threats are all around you and can even sometimes come from trusted sources like friends and relatives. Because we are social beings we communicate with other people and often exchange information transferred via removable drives, which are also infection-prone. And an infected removable drive is as efficient at ruining your computer and data as any virus. To protect your computer from these dangers, you should enable the option to scan removable devices upon their connection to your device.

To configure the automatic scan of removable devices upon their connection in Kaspersky PURE, click Settings at the right top corner, and in the Scan section select General Settings.

In the Scan removable drives on connection section, select the required action:

  • Do not scan. In this case, the application will not scan removable drives on their connection.
  • Prompt for action. The window asking to select an action will appear on a removable device connection. You can select one of the following: Quick ScanFull Scan or Do not scan.

  • Full Scan. Kaspersky PURE will scan a connected removable device applying scan settings specified for the Full Scan option.
  • Quick Scan. Kaspersky PURE will scan a connected removable device applying scan settings specified for the Quick Scan option.

At the bottom of the Scan removable drives on connection section, you can specify Maximum drive size to be scanned.
