Cambridge, UK, November 28, 2000 - Kaspersky Lab Int., an international data-security software-development company, has been awarded the status of Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, Davos, Switzerland.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) is the foremost global business, political, and intellectual partnership uniting leaders of society committed to improving overall conditions in the world. Within WEF's new programme, "Technology Pioneers," Kaspersky Lab has been selected as one of the 100 leading pioneering companies for the year 2001.
As a new initiative of the World Economic Forum, Technology Pioneers was created in 2000 to provide a framework for high-level interaction and intensive networking among key global leaders. Selected by the Forum, the Technology Pioneers come from various industries that are revolutionising the future.
Technology Pioneers are a community of the most innovative new technology companies from around the world, and are engaged in the most innovative areas of technology spearheading the new economy. Nominations for the programme are collected from a wide variety of sources and are subject to an independent, objective and impartial selection process.
