Kaspersky Lab, a leading information security software developer, announces the release of Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for Linux/Unix Mail Servers 5.0. Version 5.0 includes an array of substantial changes and improvements over version 4.0 that significantly enhance functionality and effectiveness. Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for Linux/Unix Mail Servers centrally checks all e-mail data streams in real time. It effectively searches for and neutralizes malicious code in all objects passing through the server, ensuring that only data confirmed to be safe is delivered to client computers. The system supports FreeBSD, OpenBSD and all popular versions of Linux. Version 5.0 for Linux/Unix Mail Servers is set apart from the preceding version 4.0 by its use of new anti-virus technologies representing the latest achievements by Kaspersky Lab experts. Implemented into all product components is an advanced anti-virus kernel that significantly lessens requirements on computer processing power while fully maintaining effectiveness. System administrators can centrally manage and modify settings to fully satisfy specific requirements. Version 5.0 comes with a plug-in module Webmin, a popular management system, enhancing remote administration functionality and compatibility. Additional improvements to Version 5.0 include the refinement of the statistics gathering and reporting system, the correction of functional and architectural shortcomings in Version 4.0, more convenient licensing policies, and the redesign of components responsible for scanning mail traffic.
