Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces that Kaspersky PURE has been voted ‘Product of the Year 2011' by the readers of CHIP, Romania's leading IT magazine. Kaspersky PURE took 38.9% of the total vote to comfortably win the ‘Security Software' category ahead of its two main rivals – BitDefender Total Security 2011 with 20,2%, and ESET Smart Security 4 with 14%.
"This is the third year in a row that a Kaspersky Lab security solution has been voted the best security software product of the year by CHIP readers," stated Costin Raiu, Director of Global Research and Analysis Team, who was present at the awards ceremony.
"In previous years, Kaspersky Internet Security was the star of these awards, but now all eyes are on the new Kaspersky PURE, a true ally in the fight against digital pollution. I know that the entire Kaspersky Lab team is grateful for this award and we will continue to focus our efforts on creating trendsetting technologies for the anti-malware industry", concluded Raiu.
This was the eleventh 'CHIP – Product of the Year' awards ceremony, with nominees being selected from a readers' poll. The awards recognize the best hardware and software products in the IT industry across 12 categories: Notebooks, Displays, Netbooks, Mobile Phones, Security Software, Gadgets, Software, Networking, Video Cards, Cameras, TVs and Motherboards.
