Kaspersky Security for SharePoint

Collaboration platforms help people and teams to do more by working together, sharing and collaborating on content from almost everywhere. Effective teamwork makes your organization more productive but collaboration platform can be a source of malware and other security risks. If you’re running Microsoft SharePoint Server, endpoint protection solutions aren’t suitable because collaboration content is stored on an SQL database, not laptops. Kaspersky Security for SharePoint is a dedicated security solution that uses Kaspersky’s latest anti-malware engine to secure SharePoint platforms from every type of cyber threat without affecting your team’s performance and ability to collaborate.

    • On-demand and background scanning

Server content is regularly scanned to ensure that all objects are free of malware. Kaspersky Security for SharePoint can also scan content on other SharePoint servers. You can run on-demand scanning at any time with minimal impact on server load, perform parallel scanning between servers and skip content that was scanned during previous task runs.

Limiting the load on your hardware resources

    • File filtering

File filtering can help to enforce document storage policies and reduce the demands placed on storage devices. The application enables managers to create lists of prohibited file names and extensions. Preset file type profiles are included (such as music, video and executable files), so that policies can be implemented more rapidly. By analysing real file formats, regardless of the extension name, the application ensures that avoiding the use of a prohibited file extension does not lead to a violation of the security policy.

    • Intuitive interface

The application’s administration tool has an interface that is easy to understand and uses a scenario-based approach. All of the most commonly used administrative scenarios are included.

    • Centralized management and monitoring

A single administrative console helps control even multiple server farms from a single console. Kaspersky Security for SharePoint is integrated with Kaspersky Security Center, enabling you to monitor the collaboration platform protection and connection status, view important events and access consolidated statistics for all SharePoint servers together with the other security components your organization uses.

    • Dashboard

A clearly laid out dashboard display provides real-time access to current product status, database version and licence status for all protected servers. Graphical representations of protection status are stored for one week.

    • Backup of modified files

A backup facility keeps detailed information about modified files. In the event of an incident, this information can help with investigations. The application can also restore modified files if required. Backups are stored in a protected, isolated environment.

    • Integration with Active Directory

The application provides for the authentication of Active Directory users.

    • Role-based access

Security management can be assigned to different personnel or job roles.
